Patients seek a dentist in Sterling Heights who utilizes professional CEREC technology

utilizes professional CEREC technology

Think of all the things you can accomplish on a lunch break. You can dine with friends, shop, take a walk, or restore a tooth! At Laser Dental Associates, we understand time is precious. Therefore, we provide same-day tooth restorations utilizing professional CEREC technology in our Sterling Heights office. Our dentist will explain how we utilize the technology and the types of restorations we can provide in less than an hour.

Utilizing CEREC technology

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. CEREC is a special device that uses CAD/CAM technology to fabricate restorations including dental crowns, bridges, and veneers. We send impressions through a CAD/CAM system. Then, the restorations are created in a milling chamber. The dentist will check the restorations for precise fit before placement.

Providing various tooth restorations

During a consultation appointment, the dentist will thoroughly examine the mouth, teeth, and gums to determine which restoration is right for you:

  • Porcelain crowns – We place these “caps” on the tooth structure to restore broken or worn down teeth, cover severely discolored or misshapen teeth, protect teeth after root canal treatments, or hold together cracked teeth. We place a block of porcelain in the milling chamber to create the restorations utilizing CEREC technology.
  • Bridges – These appliances include artificial teeth and dental crowns to restore missing teeth. Dental bridges can blend beautifully with the smile. They can be more affordable than dental implants and dentures.
  • Veneers – We permanently bond wafer thin shells to the front of natural teeth to cover imperfections, fill gaps between teeth, and brighten teeth. We use stain resistant porcelain. There is minimal tooth preparation before we create the veneers in the milling chamber and bond them to the teeth. Veneers can last more than a decade when good oral hygiene habits are practiced.
